Phone audio for electricians
Half the calls are quotes and half are faults, and the two want completely different things. A short menu sorts them, and an after-hours message deals with the calls that cannot wait.
Why it matters here
Quotes, faults, and the call that is really a safety call
A fault call may be an emergency
A burning smell at the switchboard, an outlet that has arced, wires down after a storm. Your after-hours message should say what to do first and where a genuine emergency belongs, rather than leaving a caller to work it out on their own.
Quotes and jobs in progress do not belong in one queue
A builder chasing a rough-in and a homeowner after a price are different conversations with different people. A menu puts each in the right place, and neither waits through the other.
Agents and strata managers ring in batches
Smoke alarm checks and safety switch testing on rental properties arrive as a list, not as one job. If you take that work, say so in the recording; if you do not, say that too and save everyone the call.
Not every electrician does Level 2 work
Service mains, metering and the connection back to the street need an accredited service provider. Stating whether you hold that accreditation heads off a long conversation about a job you were never going to take.

An example script
The shape and the level of detail that tends to work for electricians. The business is invented and the words are only a starting point — yours are written in the studio.
Thanks for calling Ridgeline Electrical. For a quote or a new job, press one. To ask about work already booked, press two. For a fault or an emergency, press three and your call goes through to the on-call electrician. If you can smell burning or see sparking, switch the power off at your switchboard first.
What to mention in yours
- Your electrical licence number and the areas you work in.
- Whether you take Level 2 work — service mains, metering and overhead connections.
- How an emergency reaches you after hours, and what a caller should do before you arrive.
- The compliance work you do for agents: smoke alarms, safety switch testing, condition reports.
You write the words, or edit what the assistant drafts, so what your callers hear is your decision rather than ours.

Create a message for your electrical business.
Start from a blank page or let the assistant draft it. Either way you hear five seconds of your own audio before you decide anything.
No account needed. Payment comes after the preview, not before.
